Trigger drill · 134 moves from your own games · 67 of them lost material

Safe, or not?

Each card is a move you really played, from move 10 on, on a move where a trigger fired: your piece landed on a square he attacks (T2), or after the move something of yours was loose (T3). The highlighted squares show the move. About half were safe and half lost at least 1.5 pawns (Stockfish 18, depth 16). Call it at game speed, then say his reply out loud before you look. Most trigger moves in your games are safe, so practising the "safe" call matters as much as spotting the danger.
